Hello Mom and Dad,
It has been a good week this past week, but not too many lessons. We are
just still trying to find more people to teach at the moment. So still,
of course, we are tracting but not tons like before. This week was
Stake Conference so we went down to Findlay and that was pretty fun.
I loved the speakers. President and Sister Sorensen both spoke and
they were great. So nothing happened with tornados in our area, the
whole mission was under a watch but it was all in southern part of
Ohio where anything happened; we just got rain. We have plans though
in case a tornado happens so don't worry, we are safe. We have been
told that Bryan hasn't had a tornado touchdown here in a very long
time, it's one of the low lying cities in the area. Oh, also they are
right at the moment testing the sirens and they are very loud and
annoying.
Not to much happened this week. We taught some lessons but that is it.
The Lemons are doing great and they love it. They actually are now
covering two areas in the mission and they are two of the biggest ones
too. Their call is mostly, from what I understand, to work with less actives
and to retain new converts, but they can also teach investigators.
They are basically like the elders but they don't have to tract. They
love there calling though and they are amazing. They are actually
teaching an investigator right now. It's a part-member family and they
seem to be progressing too so that is great.
It's great to hear that the service went well and they enjoyed it and
it's great that so many were there at the service. It's great to hear
about the Fam,
I hope Alexa will be ok. And PARIS-- I want to go there haha.
Eric doesn't speak french and he hates the french; he cant go
there haha. That's too bad for Jesse the ACT was a long boring test that I
did not enjoy. I hope he has fun with that haha.
Well that's pretty much been my week nothing too exciting other than the
tornado warnings. I love and miss you all and hope you have a great
week.
Love, Elder Furtney
"Thou art called to labor in my vineyard, and to build up my church, and to bring forth Zion, that it may rejoice upon the hills and flourish. Behold, verily, verily, I say unto thee, thou art not called to go into the eastern countries, but thou art called to go to the Ohio. And inasmuch as my people shall assemble themselves at the Ohio, I have kept in store a blessing such as is not known among the children of men, and it shall be poured forth upon their heads. And from thence men shall go forth into all nations. Wherefore, go forth, crying with a loud voice saying: The kingdom of heavn is at hand: crying: Hosanna! Blessed be the name of the Most High God. Go forth baptizing with water, preparing the way before my face for the time of my coming." --Doctrine and Covenants 39: 13-15, 19-20
