"Thou art called to labor in my vineyard, and to build up my church, and to bring forth Zion, that it may rejoice upon the hills and flourish. Behold, verily, verily, I say unto thee, thou art not called to go into the eastern countries, but thou art called to go to the Ohio. And inasmuch as my people shall assemble themselves at the Ohio, I have kept in store a blessing such as is not known among the children of men, and it shall be poured forth upon their heads. And from thence men shall go forth into all nations. Wherefore, go forth, crying with a loud voice saying: The kingdom of heavn is at hand: crying: Hosanna! Blessed be the name of the Most High God. Go forth baptizing with water, preparing the way before my face for the time of my coming." --Doctrine and Covenants 39: 13-15, 19-20

October 29, 2012

Hey Mom and Dad,

I am doing great in Ohio. Just had to pull out the winter wear so I’m not too excited about that. Yes so we have been told this is supposed to be like the storm of the century on the east coast but we haven’t got any snow yet, just a ton of rain... and very cold rain at that! So this hurricane is pretty huge as far we have heard... sounds exciting! Oh yeah, so we have to make sure we have some food and water storage for the winter because it’s supposed to be a really bad winter and President Villenga wants us to be prepared!
Well that is great to hear about Mason. He is a great guy! I was pretty surprised when he said he was going on a mission but he was prepared for it! He and Dayton are pretty funny when they get to together. They are good friends. That is a way cool conversion story.  I didn’t even know that happened but that is cool! So Trevor is going to New Jersey that's cool! Sounds like a good place for him to go!
Well hopefully Eric gets his job that would be really cool! Park City would be way nice then I can go visit him and go snowboarding! Oh yes I did get the box and thank you for it... I enjoyed the treats a lot and so did Elder Garner! Well we are still working on getting people to teach.  It’s been pretty hard and it’s going to get even harder with Christmas coming around the corner.  We are still teaching Deb.  She is just been in southern Ohio for a while now and she really wants to be baptized!   Other than that we are doing a ton of tracting and I have pretty much tracted the whole city now! So if I stay another transfer, I will definitely finish the city and have to start over again! Well thank you for the email and it’s good to hear about the family.  Hope you all have a great week.  It should be interesting out here with this storm! Love you all

Love,
Elder Ryan Furtney
