"Thou art called to labor in my vineyard, and to build up my church, and to bring forth Zion, that it may rejoice upon the hills and flourish. Behold, verily, verily, I say unto thee, thou art not called to go into the eastern countries, but thou art called to go to the Ohio. And inasmuch as my people shall assemble themselves at the Ohio, I have kept in store a blessing such as is not known among the children of men, and it shall be poured forth upon their heads. And from thence men shall go forth into all nations. Wherefore, go forth, crying with a loud voice saying: The kingdom of heavn is at hand: crying: Hosanna! Blessed be the name of the Most High God. Go forth baptizing with water, preparing the way before my face for the time of my coming." --Doctrine and Covenants 39: 13-15, 19-20

January 23, 2013

Hey Mom and Dad,
Thanks for both your emails.  They were both pretty interesting to say the least... or at least Dad’s was. Well things are going great here... just super cold. We hit the negatives yesterday and had a bunch of weather advisories saying not to stay out long; so pretty fun over here. Still not too much snow here.  I can still see grass so it’s just freezing but the lake is pretty frozen over; which looks way cool by the way but not enough for me to run on it yet haha. So that is really cool to hear about the meeting on Sunday; I’m sure Cameron and Trevor will do very well on their missions. Also that is great to hear about K'loni; she will do great out in Florida... just hope she doesn’t get blown away by a hurricane. That is so great to hear about the new niece. I can’t wait to meet her.
So college... yes, don’t worry Mom, I haven’t completely forgotten about it. I have been trying to plan where I want to go at the moment. Right now I’m going to take at the most just one semester off before I go back. I have been thinking about SUU and Dixie State, but I haven’t really decided yet where I’m considering more.
Thanks for everything and I’m still doing great out here other than the cold. Love you all and hope you have a great week.
Love,
Elder Ryan Furtney
