"Thou art called to labor in my vineyard, and to build up my church, and to bring forth Zion, that it may rejoice upon the hills and flourish. Behold, verily, verily, I say unto thee, thou art not called to go into the eastern countries, but thou art called to go to the Ohio. And inasmuch as my people shall assemble themselves at the Ohio, I have kept in store a blessing such as is not known among the children of men, and it shall be poured forth upon their heads. And from thence men shall go forth into all nations. Wherefore, go forth, crying with a loud voice saying: The kingdom of heavn is at hand: crying: Hosanna! Blessed be the name of the Most High God. Go forth baptizing with water, preparing the way before my face for the time of my coming." --Doctrine and Covenants 39: 13-15, 19-20

Transferred to new area - Bryan, Ohio - January 23, 2012
Hello Mom and Dad,
It's great to hear from both of you and I am doing great in the new
area. Thank you Dad for all of the words of encouragement. I am always
learning out here. It's pretty crazy how much I love this work even
though I am always tired. haha
Well, the new area is Bryan, Ohio which is a tiny town in the
northwest corner of Ohio. The area is one of the
biggest in our mission so it's a lot to learn in a small matter of
time. We have the senior couple here --the Lemons are a great
couple and they have helped us a lot. I don't know if you know but we
are shotgunning the area so we really don't know anything about the
area at all. We are still getting to know everyone in the branch, but
I am very excited to work here. There truly is a lot of potential
here and the people here will actually talk to us when we are
tracting. Elder Moffett is from Bountiful, Utah. He is a Spanish
speaking elder and he played soccer as well. I am very excited to
serve here in this area even though i am out in the middle of nowhere.
I can see for miles because it is so flat. Oh, cool thing about Bryan is this
is where Dum Dums are made so yes I already have pictures of the
Dum Dum Company.
This place is pretty interesting but I am not going to lie I was
so surprised when they told me I was going to Bryan
because that was where Elder Davies just came from so it was pretty
surprising.
Well, tell Eric happy birthday from his brother. Hope
everyone has a great week and I love you all.
Oh also our address is
228 South Beech Street
Bryan, OH 43506

Well I am glad to hear everything is going great with the family. I am very excited for Arlee and no I have never met him, but i do remember when they started dating. I haven't heard anything from her for a while you should tell her to email when she gets the chance. Oh and tell Arlee I love her and I am excited to meet her new husband when I get home or maybe on skype on mothers day. I really do hope that she does start going back to church and hopefully her new husband will join as well so they can enjoy the blessings of the temple. Well, I am getting transferred so I will tell you the new area next week. Ii don't find out until tomorrow. I am pretty excited to see a new area. I don't have tons of time today to write a long epistle to all of you so I will leave it at that. I love you all so much and I am praying for each one of you every night.

Hi Mom and Dad,
I have been doing very good this past week; i can't really complain at all. It has gotten really warm here this week and its supposed to be in the 50's most of the week. It's weird not having snow on the ground in January. That's great that Matt got a Brazilian companion. I just sent him an email and he seems to be doing great. Both of us are pretty surprised that our six month marks are already here; time has been flying by haha. That is great that Westyn is opening a dead area. That's one of the best things because you don't know anyone in the area so you get a lot of work to do haha.
Elder Davies and I are getting along great. No, we are not tracting too much anymore. We are really just working with the ward now. Service in the snow means shoveling ha that is it and the snow here is heavy haha. Oh and the G's can wait until after transfers. I should be fine. Could you send a couple of my jerseys like the Rsl one and the Arsenal one as well. Then I won't be tempted to buy more shirts out here. I want to save my money... We only need the blank shirts in the MTC --out here its fine to have jerseys.. plus we only wear them when we are in our house and on P day. We actually go to Kirtland and have a little meeting and then we go to our new areas.
Don't worry mom, I have a pretty positive attitude most of the time, unless it is raining then maybe not haha. No sadly Elder Davies is not a soccer fan, he is from Idaho all they do is potato farming haha -- just kidding, that was mostly just for dad. He is a great companion though he wasn't way into sports in high school. He is more musically inclined. This is why I was singing in the choir haha. I miss my football.. but oh well i love it here too, and its more rewarding here anyways. Well I love you all and I'll tell you next week if I am getting transferred.

Hey Mom and Dad,
Happy New Year!! I am very excited for this new year and I can't wait to see what it brings. All we did for new years is had a meeting with our district and then we went to bed at 10:30 haha. They just don't want us out on the street with all the drunk people haha. As a mission we are reading the book of Mormon in 90 days. I had already read most of it so I will stick to the plan. I was in the book of Helamen so it's good. So last night we finally got hit with snow. I don't know how long it will stay, it could be the rest of winter or it could be gone by tomorrow... oh well, it gives us things to do while we tract. Plus I like the snow more than the rain so it's good so far. Oh and last night I was wanting to go snowboarding so bad, but there are no mountains here and I can't haha. The weather has been really weird here too. Last year they had about 53 inches of snow in December, but this year they have none. Eric's new car sounds nice. Now he won't get stuck at the bottom of Fiddlers because his car can't move in the snow. haha. Well we are still not teaching anyone at the moment but there are a few potentials and it will probably pick up now that the holidays are over. We have transfers on the 18th of January, and most likely I should leave but I really have no idea. I could stay for all I know. Well, thank you for all of your support. I love you all and hope you have a great week. I know I will haha in the snow...

Hope that helps. We are so proud of you and so grateful for your missionary service. Keep up the good work -- I know it will pay off. It already has because you have grown so much in the gospel for which I am personally so thankful for. Hugs & kisses!!! Mom

It was so great to skype with you yesterday. I can't believe we talked for 3 hours - it was awesome. So I looked up the meaning of the word "yinz" for you.
Yinz-(Irish)(Second person plural) from the greater Pittsburgh dialect, plural of 'you', or 'you ones'. It is equivalent to y'all' of the southern US. Its origin is Irish, and came into common use with the immigration of the Scotch/Irish people to western Pennsylvania.
